Meet Osha Humphrey MSN, CNM

My Journey to Midwifery

As a mother of four, I know firsthand how powerful and life-changing compassionate maternity care can be. My own births left a lasting imprint on me and inspired a deep calling to support other women as they move through one of life’s most incredible journeys.

I began my healthcare career as a labor and delivery registered nurse in 2017, where I witnessed both the beauty and the challenges of hospital-based maternity care. This experience inspired me to pursue midwifery education to provide the kind of individualized, woman-centered care I believe every mother deserves.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus on Nurse-Midwifery from the University of Michigan in May 2024, and passed my state boards in July 2024. During my training, I had the privilege of attending 43 births and developed expertise in newborn resuscitation and perineal suturing.

Jackson, Michigan isn’t just where I practice—it’s my hometown. Having deep roots in this community means I understand the unique needs and values of the families I serve. My long-term vision includes opening a birth center here, creating a home-like environment for birth and comprehensive women’s care.

Looking Toward the Future

A Vision for Jackson County

My long-term goal is to open a birth center right here in Jackson, providing a beautiful, home-like environment for birth and comprehensive women’s health care. This center would serve as a bridge between home and hospital, offering families more choices for their birth experience.

Until that vision becomes reality, I’m honored to serve families through personalized home birth care, bringing the same level of safety, respect, and individualized attention to your own space.
